About Us

Established in 2000, Synoptic Consulting is a niche management consultancy that specialises in Business Process Improvement, Performance Support, Operational Improvement / Operational Excellence, and Change Management for the Australian market.

What we do

We assist our clients to ‘operationalise their business strategies’ by improving their processes, providing access to their knowledge, managing their change, and lifting operational performance, through a balanced focus on people, process, technology and policy.

We have refined our approach, methodology and toolsets to leverage our experience in delivering process and operational improvement initiatives to our clients. We are dedicated to the delivery of superior quality business process and operational management analysis, optimisation and implementation services to a wide range of clients in most industries. Synoptic is led by Creon Cambitzi. Creon has over 20 years’ experience overseeing client engagements and small consulting teams as they conduct business analysis, efficiency initiatives and organisational turnaround projects. We have a small and dedicated team of consultants with skills covering Process, Operational Excellence, Documentation and Knowledge Management, Change Management and Implementation, and Project Management, whose collective experience spans most industry sectors and most business domains. We work just as effectively across Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Supply Chain, HR, Finance and other Administration Support Areas, and often identify efficiency improvements of at least 20%, and service level improvements of up to 40%. As we do not sell IT systems, nor represent any particular systems provider, our independence is valued by our clients. With our Head Office in Sydney, we also deliver projects across Eastern Australia, supported by the right set of skills for your specific kind of project.

Our Approach and Philosophy

Our philosophy is to preferably work ‘with and through’ your staff to balance skills transfer with an acceptable rate of speed. We believe that the combination of an understanding of the operation, organisation and market sector brought by our Clients, together with an ability to quickly understand a process, its enablers, and its obstacles, and then how to optimise it, proves consistently to be a powerful and attractive service offering.

Our results are achieved by using a highly collaborative approach, blending ‘Bottom-up’ (working with staff to identify current processes, issues requiring improvement, and building the understanding and commitment at grass roots) with ‘Top-down’ (working with managers and executives to impart strategic requirements into future processes). Where appropriate, this is supported by our sophisticated workflow modelling and analysis, looking for operational bottlenecks and hidden costs resulting from inadequate Policies, Processes, People/Skills and Technologies, and working with your teams to target these for improvement. Other projects require us to spend time ‘in the shoes’ of the staff, Team Leaders and Supervisors who ‘live the process’ on a day to day basis, to build a deep understanding of the operational issues facing them, and hence to develop sustainable solutions for their minimisation. We use simple, repeatable techniques that quickly enable your staff to become involved and self-sufficient in the identification and implementation of business improvement initiatives. This approach maximises the ‘stickiness’ of the change in your organisation in the long-term. We are equally comfortable to provide only specialist advice, or to get involved with assisting in the implementation of sustainable change. During implementation support, we provide ‘on-the-floor’ supervisory coaching, support and management of the change to ensure benefits are realised, sustainable and repeatable.
